In Fatopia, the discussion of body dysmorphia and existential crisis brought forth by common societal beauty standards is presented to the audience: how should we approach, evaluate, critique, and resist the social construct of “mainstream”?
Forsaking the traditional storytelling, Fatopia uses imagery that’s considered and purposeful to provoke reflection and re-consideration of humanity. Through a series of gruesome and suspenseful visual sequences, in which the current mainstream beauty values are reversed, Fatopia captures the dystopian atmo-sphere that will linger with its audience in an abstract way.
